With reference to your despatch No.100 of the 30th
April in which you authorised me to offer the holders of certain 21 year leases in Shaukiwan new 75 year leases with boundaries adjusted to facilitate a laying out scheme for the district, I have the honour to inform you that, in order that the scheme may be pro- ceeded with, it will be necessary to deal with certain 999 year leases on the same lines.
I propose to grant these leaseholders an exchange of lots on terms identical with those stated in my despatch No.101 of the 26th March except that the payment of premium will be waived, and the new leases offered will be for 75 years renewable for a further period of 75 years at a re-assessed crown rent.
I attach a plan showing in red the lota affected.
